The Institute of Digital Humanities at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) announces a supplementary admission period for Hungary’s first postgraduate Data Steward Training Programme. Applications are now open until 18 August 2025.
As the volume of digital-born and digitised data continues to grow, the need for trained professionals capable of handling complex data management tasks is more pressing than ever. The programme offers a practice-oriented curriculum at the intersection of digital humanities, information science, and IT, equipping participants with advanced knowledge of data curation, repository management, legal frameworks, and the FAIR principles of open science.
The two-semester course (60 ECTS) includes modules in data governance, text processing, project management, machine learning, and database systems. A final Capstone Project enables participants to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts, often in collaboration with leading national and international institutions such as the National Széchényi Library, the Hungarian National Archives, and the MTA Library and Information Centre.
Target groups include researchers, librarians, data managers, digital curators, and professionals from public institutions or the private sector dealing with data security and research support.
Upon completion, graduates receive an official ELTE diploma.
